Overview

HTSI (now TASI) was awarded the operations and maintenance (O&M) services contract for the Orange County (OC) Streetcar, a 4.15-mile modern streetcar line owned by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). The line runs curbside in mixed traffic between the Santa Ana station and Raitt Street, then continues west in a dedicated right-of-way. Power comes from an overhead catenary system. The fleet is eight Siemens S70 light rail vehicles, with six in service at any time. The route serves 12 stations that connect to 18 existing OCTA bus lines, and an end-to-end trip takes about 30 minutes. OCTA projects daily ridership of 6,000 to 7,300 passengers.
