Overview
HTSI (now TASI) was selected to set up and deliver maintenance-of-equipment (MOE) services for the new Siemens Venture railcar fleet serving the Gold Runner intercity route, formerly the San Joaquins. TASI maintains all 49 cars, which run six daily round trips between Oakland and Bakersfield (315 miles) and one daily round trip between Sacramento and Bakersfield (282 miles). The corridor serves 29 stations across eleven California counties: Sacramento, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern. Union Pacific (UPRR) and BNSF own, maintain, and dispatch the line. UPRR, BNSF, Amtrak, Gold Runner, and ACE share operations on different segments, and Amtrak operates the trains. TASI’s MOE program keeps the fleet available and reliable in this busy multi-railroad environment.
